  • Another "mistake" shot, scaup was too far away, not the best color reflections, but for some reason I really like the stripes created by the water reflections and all the empty space gives a feeling of solitude around the duck.
  • A nice pose with some ugly brown water.
  • Got lucky on this one, a slower shutter speed than I would normally use, but I like how it adds to the sense of motion with the wings and water splashes blurred.
  • Nothing fancy, but it's a canvasback! Really hard to get these guys exposed properly.

  • My second favorite photo of the night. Just like the brown reflection of the trees off the water and the warm light. Wake helps lead the eye right to the goose.
  • Utilized a very slow shutter speed for this one to soften the water. Still like the ripples going out in front of the duck though. Also like the pose with the redhead pointing his beak up.

  • First favorite of the night. Nothing fancy in the reflections of the water, but I really like the elegant pose of the swan preening and the shadow cast by the wing.
